Image Nation Abu Dhabi, one of the leading media and entertainment companies in the region, will screen its autism documentary AS ONE: THE AUTISM PROJECT at NYU Abu Dhabi on April 18th.

The screening is in partnership with the Ministry of Community Development and marks April’s global Autism Awareness Month and the UAE’s Year of Giving.

AS ONE: THE AUTISM PROJECT is a documentary feature film released in 2014, which follows a diverse group of young children at various levels on the autism spectrum. Filmed entirely in the UAE, the documentary brought together a group of expat and Emirati children as they strive to put on a musical theatre production for friends and families. The film has been praised for giving a unique view of the condition in what is an inspiring story, and has travelled the world as an awareness tool since its release.

Following the screening of the film will be a Q&A with Sharifa Yateem, the UAE’s only Applied Behavioural Analyst and lead specialist in the film, as well as the documentary director and producer Hana Makki and a parent of a child with autism.
