‘HE NAMED ME MALALA’ NOMINATED FOR FIVE EMMY AWARDS

Nominations include Outstanding Director nod for Davis Guggenheim

This weekend it was announced that our international co-production, He Named Me Malala was nominated for five Emmy Awards.

Released in 2015 to critical acclaim, He Named Me Malala is the intimate portrait of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai, who was targeted by the Taliban and severely wounded by a gunshot when returning home on her school bus in Pakistan’s Swat Valley. The film was directed by Academy® Award-winning filmmaker Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth and Waiting for “Superman”), produced by Parkes/MacDonald and distributed by Fox Searchlight Pictures in association with Image Nation Abu Dhabi, Participant Media and National Geographic Channel.

 

The nominations include, Outstanding Production Design For A Variety, Nonfiction, Event Or Award Special, Outstanding Cinematography For A Nonfiction Program, Outstanding Directing For A Nonfiction Program, Outstanding Picture Editing For A Nonfiction Program and Outstanding Sound Editing For A Nonfiction Program (Single Or Multi-Camera) .

 

The winners will be announced at an award ceremony on September 18.
