Eisa Al Sabousi
United Arab Emirates
Eisal Al Sabousi applied to Arab Film Studio, seeing it as a great opportunity to pursue his filmmaking ambitions. With future plans to become a director of feature films, winning a place on the AFS program enabled Eisa to uncover the process of professional filmmaking, from industry insiders.
"My passion for filmmaking mainly revolves around the idea of expressing myself creatively in the most unique way. Film is the way I imagine almost everything in my life: as a constructed story told through images from my mind. I truly believe that filmmaking is what I want to do for the rest of my life.”
From Martin Scorsese to Quentin Tarantino and David Fincher, Eisa’s film inspirations are varied.
“I like to look at individual films rather than works of one particular filmmaker. We all have our own interpretations and tastes in film, which is exactly what I love about the medium. "
Eisa’s inspiration for his final short film ‘Hamad’ came from his ongoing fascination with the complexities of the human mind. Through his filmmaking he seeks to explore and consider how different people react when forcefully put into difficult situations.
