NYU Young Filmmakers Workshop
The Young Filmmakers Workshop was an Image Nation educational program in partnership with NYU Abu Dhabi and acclaimed Tisch School of Arts in New York. The 2-week program, open to Emirati high-school students, introduced the rigors and rewards of producing and directing short films. Under the tutelage of industry professionals and first-class Tisch professors, each student was asked to direct a short film during the program.
As part of Image Nation's strategy to foster local talent, we joined forces with Total to offer local filmmakers a chance to take part in critically renowned film school La Femis’s intensive summer program in Paris.
The Gulf Summer University program specialized in creative workshops that allow students to better understand the roles and tasks that are part of filmmaking today.
Ranked one of the top ten film schools by Hollywood Reporter, students were taught filmmaking theory and practical skills by top tutors in the industry. Trainees also had the opportunity to discover contemporary French cinema through the study of important French directors.
During the five-week summer program students produced a short film they were able to then take around to film festivals all over the world.
