AFS is raising the profile of the UAE’s rapidly evolving film industry, positioning Abu Dhabi as a creative hub for the region, and helping the region’s next generation of filmmakers to get behind the camera and tell their stories.
The AFS Narrative annual training initiative aims to develop UAE nationals’, UAE residents’, and GCC nationals’ skills in filmmaking. The winner receives an internship opportunity in a national or international production.

The new AFS Documentary course is focused on developing UAE nationals’ and UAE residents’ skills in documentary filmmaking. The winner receives an internship in the Documentary Department at Image Nation.

August: announce finalists and begin program (18th to 24th: concept development workshop)
September: (13th to 22nd) Two weeks intensive filmmaking boot camp

The final challenge of the program is for each finalist to write and shoot a short film up to ten-minutes in length, which is judged by an international panel of film industry players and experts.
