Our company

Since launching in 2008 as a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Media, Image Nation has rapidly become one of the leading content creators in Abu Dhabi and the UAE.

The company commissions and produces filmed content across a wide range of platforms, with a particular focus on audiences in the UAE and Gulf region.

Image Nation fulfills four key commitments: Developing Emirati filmed entertainment; growing the local film industry through training and internship programs; supporting Abu Dhabi entities in creating content to meet strategic and marketing objectives; and co-producing an aggressive slate of international films through several strategic partnerships.

Image Nation Abu Dhabi, the company’s local division, develops film, TV and documentary projects showcasing Emirati talent both in front and behind the camera. “Sea Shadow”, the company’s first local film, was released last year and the horror film “Djinn” is slated for release later in 2013.

The company contributes to the film industry in Abu Dhabi through a number of training and internship programs that encourage the growth of local talent.  One of its most popular programs, Arab Film Studio, will hold its second edition this year in partnership with twofour54. The multi-disciplinary program provides burgeoning filmmakers the training they need to have successful careers in the film industry.

Drawing on the group’s creative and marketing expertise, Image Nation Strategic Media Solutions works with partners to create engaging content that enables their strategic and marketing objectives.  The company has formed a number of alliances with Abu Dhabi government and commercial entities to develop multi-media projects including advertising campaigns, TV content, documentaries and social media campaigns.

Image Nation International, the company’s international film division, maintains strategic partnerships with a number of major producers.  These include Participant Media, Hyde Park Entertainment, Parkes /Macdonald Productions, Warner Bros., and Singapore’s Media Development Authority (MDA).

The division has co-produced a number of feature films, including “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel”, “The Help”, “Contagion” and “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance” and through its Parkes+MacDonald/Image Nation partnership produced "Men in Black 3" and "Flight"
